“Healing is a journey, not an event.” — John F. Barnes, PT

Your Healing Journey

Myofascial Release is not a one-time treatment. Repetition is crucial for creating lasting changes in the body.

Commitment to better health and healing your body should not stop the moment that you’re out of pain. As you continue to go through activities and events, facial restriction that leads to pain and dysfunction can creep back as a result of any sort of trauma.

My commitment to your care continues through a maintenance approach, supporting your body in holding and and integrating the progress that we’ve created together. For most clients, monthly visits are sufficient to maintain these changes. Ongoing self-treatment is also essential and should remain a lifelong priority to support your continued well-being.

We make time for sleep, food, work, and play, but we rarely make time to physically decompress and soften. That is the essence of self-treatment. Too often, it’s approached only in moments of crisis rather than as a preventative practice.

My goal is for you to maintain and build on the work that we’ve done together. Self-treatment is essential to that progress. When your body goes weeks without support, it becomes harder to regain those small, meaningful shifts that create lasting change.

What You Should Know

Booking an Appointment

A gentle reminder to keep up with your maintenance appointments, especially if you have preferred days or times.

Most clients see the best results when sessions are scheduled consistently and in advance. This allows us to build on the work that we’ve done together rather than starting over each time.

Maximizing Your Results

The most meaningful and lasting changes happen through consistency, both in treatment and in how your support your body between sessions. Self-treatment, rest, hydration, and simply paying attention to areas of tension or restriction all help to reinforce the work that we’re doing together. Rather than waiting for pain to return, this approach allows your body to gradually shift out of long-held patterns and maintain greater ease, mobility, and comfort over time.

What to Expect Between Sessions

Between sessions, it’s common to notice changes in your body as it continues to respond to the work. You may experience temporary soreness, shifts in tension, increased awareness, or even periods of fatigue or emotional release. This is a normal part of the process, as your system integrates and reorganizes. Just as often, you may feel greater ease, mobility, or a sense of lightness that builds over time.

This work doesn’t stop when you leave my table; it continues as your body adapts. Giving yourself space to rest, staying aware of how your body feels, and continuing with self-treatment supports this process. Consistent sessions allows us to build on these changes, helping your body move out of old patterns more effectively and with longer-lasting results.
